So I picked up my ultimate trilogy from EB last night… got home… after stopping myself from nearly being sick over spending $246.95 on a game (well 3 games technically)… I opened it up.

This box set cries awesomeness from the moment you see it. Yes its just a plastic box with an old look to it and rubber horns (so they can’t be snapped off), but its still freakin awesome!

Opening it up you’re presented with some postcards, an artbook (i would of liked this to be more in the style of MW2/Gears of War instead of just a manual style book) and 3 soundtrack cd’s, a download code for skins or whatever and no games….

Yes… no games… the box has a secret compartment/fake floor that opens up to reveal GoW3 and the GoW1+2 remake… AWESOME! lol

So i’m easily amused, I had a smile on my face the whole time opening it so thats all that counts.

Anyways… I did eventually stop drooling and fire up the game…

OHHHH EMMMMM GEEEEEE!!!!

This is the BEST GAME I HAVE PLAYED ALL YEAR!

The gameplay is classic GoW, the graphics are freaking incredible, along with the audio and everything else. It was like I was watching a movie at some points, it was a shame to have to concentrate on the quick time events while killing big dudes because it just looks so awesome.

I am stupidly impressed with this game and can’t wait to put more time into it, however I will be putting it on hold as I want to get the full story/experience. I’ve gotten to the stage (about 50-60min in) where you lose all your powers/abilities (this is normal GoW, so I’m not spoiling anything!), so I’m going to leave it there for now (sadly) and pick up the remastered GoW1 and run through that (perhaps just on easy to get it done quickly… lol).

If you haven’t picked this game up or you weren’t sure about it, don’t hesitate, go and buy it NOW!

IGN Video: Gran Turismo 5 PlayStation 3 Trailer – Trailer #3

I have to say, this trailer looks the goods… I haven’t been that excited about GT5 to be honest, I feel that the GT series has gotten too serious and lost a lot of its “fun” side.

I remember playing the first GT and the second and thinking damn this is awesome and I had so much fun playing it, 3 started to get serious and 4 was the same. I own GT5 Prologue and I wasn’t overly impressed with it, sure its got nice graphics, but it felt cold and quite boring to play. Compared to a game like Forza, which has actually gotten more serious in its latest version I must admit, is so much more fun to play and modifying cars is a blast and some of the stuff being turned out by the community is unreal.

Somehow I don’t think I’ll be able to resist buying GT5, I just hope I don’t regret it!

I love steam sales and this midweek one is certainly one to be excited about! Indie games are great, they show that you don’t have to spend $50-100 to get a great enjoyable game. Up for sale in this special are the following…

Now I can say that Altitude is a tonne of fun and some of the others look pretty cool as well. Oh and they are only $2US each! A guy over on the OCAU forum said that only yesterday he bought Space Giraffe and Gridrunner in a pack for $14.99US, needless to say he isn’t too happy about this sale, lol.

PS3 Error: 8001050F Caused By Clock Bug, Fix Within 24 Hours.

Wow… this just shows that the PS3 isn’t as perfect as Sony claims it to be. It is a shame for them really, I wonder what the difference between the slim and fat PS3’s is that would cause them to not have this issue!

Lucky I don’t touch my PS3 much or I’d be pretty pissed, then again I do have a slim and a fat so if I really want to play it I can, lol. I really hope they fix this within 24 hours as promised, I have a feeling it may require manual offline firmware updates though.

UPDATE: This appears to be all good now, I don’t remember seeing any announcements or an update but it just started working again… haha

Well… the new site is up… little later than I expected due to some issues with my host and not having as much free time as I wanted over the weekend!

Anyway, as kind of expected by a couple of people I know, the new site is a BLOG! Some expected me to relaunch the old forums I used to run on here, but it sort of died a long time ago and I don’t really see the point/have the time to run a forum again. Plus I’m pretty busy spamming it up on the SOGC forum, so if you’re after a good forum to chat on I suggest you all go there!

I did want to have some more content up on here apart from this post, but it’ll have to do for now. I’ll be evolving the site over time and adding new features and articles and what ever else I can think of!

Feel free to give any comments on the layout/design of the site as I will be tweaking it every now and then I’m sure.

So there you go… might not be as exciting as you’d of expected, but hopefully you’ll visit again and I’ll have something interesting for you to read! haha!
